My orientation week ended yesterday, and I'm starting uni on Monday...

I guess I should be excited but I'm kinda worried that I won't get along well with my coursemates. It's kinda weird I guess...I try to be friendlier to people but it's just not working. I just plain don't get along with some of them. Well I don't hate their guts of anything (and I hope they don't mine) but ...meh...things are just weird...

Maybe things'll be a bit easier once we're divided into smaller groups. I tend to get along better with smaller groups...hehe. Actually...there was one person I got along relatively well with, it was a woman in her 30's doing postgrad study. Probably why most people avoid me LoL. But she's not starting until the 2nd semester which is a bit of a letdown. Even then, we might not be in the same groups...

Although, I did like the international students from OTHER courses. There was this thing called Bush Dance and I went to that with Kiran. It was just a "dance" for international students. And I quite liked the organizers/volunteers.

The problem is, I don't want to have an unbalanced mix of friends. If I mix too much with international students, it'll become harder for my English. And if I mix too much with local students...well..I don't get along too well with this group anyway so I don't think it's really gonna happen lol.

Hopefully things will change.

Well I guess there's nothing much else happening with my life so I'll see u all around.

Yay!! Orientation was today!!!

IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITING!!!...but it soon became a bit boring...we kinda toured the place a little bit...did some silly things AGAIN...attended one lecture...did an English test...meet new people...

And OMB there were so many Singaporeans and Malaysians!! The place was crawling with them!! I was like "what the..."

I was hearing Malaysian/Singaporean accents everywhere and it brought back the old memories...*SCREAMS*....hehe, there were freaks too and some cool people...but i guess there's nothing much else that was so very interesting...

If I think of anything, I'll repost, but right now i'm too tired...

I actually cooked a meal today...chicken chop...recipe by Amy Beh..(did you know she was my maths teacher in standard 1)...

Anyway...I started cooking around 1 lol. Cause I had to cook for the dog anyway, so I defrosted the meat together. And started to hack away at the half frozen chicken meat. Got out he vegies and corn and carrot and cooked fried rice for the dog...only without any oil...hehe. And don't forget the vitamin and mineral supplements.

Anyway, I made chicken chop and had to marinate it for like 2 hours with all the soy sauce and stuffs. I think I put too much salt but didn't really notice it at the end. Then there was this stew-like thing to go with the chops, and I had to cut tomatoes and ONIONS!! EWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! Actually I like eating onions, just hate cutting them...

LoL, I just realized that I cut potatoes as well but didn't use them...I forgot to make the potato wedges...

Oh well, in the end my brother and sister came back before I finished so they helped me fry the chicken then we put the chicken into the oven to make sure it was cooked, and then we also made some pasta to serve as a side dish...hmm...just realized we forgot dessert...

Oh well, it was an interesting experience. i quite enjoyed it actuallly lol.

Well i gotta learn how to cook some time...

Let's see...where was I up to...um...I think it was night number 2...well...as I recall it...there was an eating contest (around dinnertime)...and it was eating something that most people wouldn't usually it...I was pretty grossed out as well and I generally take gross stuff pretty well...it was an "interesting" experience though.

Some other gross stuff went on as well but I'm not gonna say anything about them...And at night, we had this dance party thing with a DJ who came from 8 to 12. And there was a campfire. And people either danced or drank or sat by the fire or a combination of one or more of the above.

I sorta did everything...except the drinking part. OH, and some of us sat in the dining room just chatting cause it was too cold outside and we were too tired to jump around in the rec room.

Some pretty good conversation went on...blah blah blah...I slept early again lol (big surprise there..)

Well I guess that's about it. The next morning was not really special. There was breakfast...

And then we were told to go to the padang with our "clothes that can get dirty" at around 11.30 where we would do "relaxation exercizes". So we went...thinking "how nice of them.."

We sat on the ground, and laid on our backs, and closed our eyes, and Joe started saying "just close your eyes, and relax, imagine a forest full of green trees (or something along those lines)". Then we were told to lay on our stomach, which we did. And he goes "Imagine a forest full of green trees (or something along those lines)" AGAIN. And we were like "mmm...."

And then they started pelting us with water bombs LoL. I heard girls screaming from the back and just jumped up and ran. It was quite funny actually.

After that, it was lunchtime...and then...we cleaned up...and then...went home...

OH, and the results of the group competitions were announced. My group came second with only 1 point behind the first one...we were like "aw...." lol

All in all, I had a wonderful time and met a lot of people. I wouldn't say we were friends, but I don't think I'm gonna be feeling lonely at all. The med students were neither nerds nor dorks and are among the friendliest people I have ever met. I'm not really looking forward to university and to have the time of my life :D:D:D...while studying really hard of course...

Later on that night, (possibly past 12) most of the ppl just started drinking and hanging out, having fun in general. I was surprised that the alcohol actually lasted till the next night. Obviously everyone came prepared hehe.

I on the other hand, went to bed earlier...hehe, I need my sleep. I wasn't the only one though. A few other guys (Note: GUYS!) also went to bed at around the time I did. One was a teammate of mine and the others were the Sarawakian and the Taiwanese guy. Hehe, the Asians aren't that good at partying...or at least the four of us. The rest seemed to have a great time.

Even though I went to bed early, I didn't really fall asleep until a lot later. Everyone kept coming in to steal the stupid mascots (was really sick of the mascots at that point). Hehe, we just put the ones we had in the window sill right next to me and I was on the top bunk so they won't be able to get them without waking me up. Of course they'd havta find them first...

I think I feel asleep between 2 and 3 o'clock...and I woke up early too, around 6 something, the sun decided to get in my eye...so I just got up and went to shower, finished by 7 and then just sat around outside looking into the horizon...which reminds me of the view. We were at the seaside, and it was really nice. I can't remember the last time I went to the beach.

Anywayz, the next morning...I think I got into an actual decent conversation lol. Not just the usual "Hey, how are you, what's your name? Mine's blah blah blah. What school do you go too? OH...that one...never heard of it...do you like stuff? I like stuff. What kinda stuff?" etc etc

Of course, she was in her 30's. She was a postgrad student.

Anyway, around 11.30 we had "sports day" lol. It was just basically having the competition outside and doing stuffs. One was a variation of the three legged race. Everyone had to join in lol. So there were 8 people with linked legs tied with bandages in each group. WE WON! I think...my memory isn't that great. And then there was the egg throwing + catching competition. We came second BUT, the funny thing was the team that came first dropped their egg three times but it didn't break! It was kinda funny I guess...but annoying at the same time.

And then there was the condom-wearing competition...which I'm not gonna go into much detail with lol.

But the funniest one was the one where we ran from one side to the other, then spun around 10 times before running back. I was so dizzy after spinning I ran off at a 90 degree angle with the direction I was supposed to head in. (Ok...maybe 85...but it was close to 90).

Hehe, it was really cool. Then came lunch, and after that, we went to the beach. It was cold and windy so it wasn't much fun. I came back earlier with a group of people and played UNO LOL.
